The Friends of the Duke University Libraries, founded in 1930, is an association of alumni, faculty, staff and other bibliophiles who are dedicated to promoting the interests of the University's libraries.

The Friends enrich the Libraries' holdings of books, films, software and other materials through financial contributions. Through diverse programs, the Friends invite the Duke community, as well as Triangle residents to share in the discovery and celebration of Library and University resources.
