Search the Catalog for books Duke owns

Select a 'search type' (Keywords, Title, Author, Subject Heading, or ISBN/ISSN)
Keyword Search
- Combine keywords on your topic
- Use quotation marks around phrases
- Ex.
"American Revolution"
Try the 'Advanced Search' in the catalog for more options while searching:

Limit your search by language, format, location or publication dates
Find the "Location/Call No." section of the catalog record: ex. Perkins/Bostock PR4555. A1 2005 (stacks).
Use Locate Materials to find the right library and find the book.
If the book is checked out, click on the title of the book to view the full record.
Then select 'Get this Title.' At the bottom of the next page, you can click the 'Request' link to recall the book.

Duke Faculty and Duke Graduate Students may request articles and books delivered to your closest library using BARD (Book/Article Delivery).
Get books Duke Libraries do not own
- Request books that Duke does not own through Interlibrary Loan and we will borrow them for you.
- Search the online catalogs of other area libraries where you can borrow materials
- Confirm that the book you are looking for exists using WorldCat, an exhaustive database of books
